Creative Partnerships with Schools

Antic Mind has been working closely with St Catherine's Catholic High School in Halifax for three years. Its involvement includes performing plays and workshops on drugs awareness and bullying, performances of 'Macbeth' and 'Romeo and Juliet', and performance workshops with A Level Drama and Theatre Studies students.

This year saw the partnership develop further with the Antic Mind Actor of The Year Award. This new annual award, given to a student at the school who has excelled in public performance was given for the first time to Lauren Smith for her role as Mike in Steven Berkoff's 'West'. 

The Production was directed for the school by Artistic Director, Kevin O'Hara, whose other work for St Catherine's includes directing 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' for the Shakespeare Schools Festival and 'Road' by Jim Cartwright.
